A Season of Questioning

When life changes your plans, but not your purpose.

Over 400 days ago, I experienced the ebbs and flows of what I viewed as success and what I viewed as failure. I questioned whether I was making the right decisions.

I contemplated how my choices were impacting the brand.

I experienced a season of disbelief, wondering if I was going in the wrong direction.

There were moments when I questioned the work I had poured into Careful Heart and whether I was still moving toward the vision I had for it.

But somewhere in that questioning, I realized I needed to take a deeper look, not just at the business, but at myself.

What brought me here?

What was my passion?

What was my purpose?

And what was the heart of Careful Heart?

The Heart Has Always Remained the Same

Careful Heart was created from a desire to encourage, uplift, motivate, and cultivate the mind, body, and spirit.

That intention has never changed.

What changed was my understanding of how I needed to show up to fulfill it.

As I began reflecting on my professional and personal journey, I recognized something important: as a therapist, I had never had to sell myself in the way that building a product-based business required. My work, education, experience, and passion for helping people had naturally brought me into spaces where I could serve others. But when I entered the world of products, I found myself navigating a different kind of business. Marketing, selling, inventory, and the constant need to promote became a significant part of the work.

And while products are absolutely a meaningful part of Careful Heart, I began to recognize that the attention and energy required to move them were taking away from something I never wanted to lose: the mission, passion, and consistency behind the brand.

I was so focused on making the products work that I had to ask myself whether I was still making space for the reason I created them. That realization changed everything.
